In our democracy, change—both big and small—is won at the ballot box. Since 1974, the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) has worked to make affordable housing a reality for all. NLIHC understands that this ambitious mission depends on bringing people together, starting in local communities across the country. That’s why it created Our Homes, Our Votes, a nonpartisan campaign to mobilize lower-income renters and housing advocates to vote.
Since 2024, NLIHC has relied on TurboVote to strategically engage voters and generate political support for affordable housing solutions. During that time, Our Homes, Our Votes has engaged thousands of voters nationwide, frequently reaching young people who have a critical stake in affordable housing access.
To learn more about how TurboVote has helped NLIHC level up its voter engagement efforts, Team TurboVote spoke with Tia Turner, a Project Manager for Our Homes, Our Votes. Watch the video to hear directly from Tia, someone who has seen the power of political engagement firsthand.
“The campaign has become more efficient and impactful because of TurboVote. It’s also helped us strengthen our ability to engage young renters, first-time voters, and renters who typically do not vote—expanding both the bandwidth and the depth of our civic mobilization work.” - Tia Turner, Project Manager, Our Homes, Our Votes, NLIHC
Equipped with data-driven insights and personalized support from TurboVote, NLIHC will continue engaging communities in every state to create a more equitable housing future, one vote at a time.
