Democracy Works is proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Google for the 2026 US midterm elections. Since 2018, we have worked together to help connect voters with accurate, authoritative election information from official election sources.
This year, reliable election information will be available to voters on Google Search, including in AI Mode and AI Overviews, and will roll out to the Gemini App soon.
Democracy Works partners with state and local election administrators across the country through the Voting Information Project (VIP) to collect and maintain election information, including Election Day polling locations, early voting sites, and drop-off locations. Democracy Works also provides links to official election websites and key dates and deadlines so voters can access information directly from election officials.
Information provided through the Voting Information Project supports voting-related experiences across Google products and services, helping voters find reliable information about how and where to participate in elections.
The same voting location data is available through the Google Civic Information API, a free resource that enables civic technology organizations and developers to incorporate authoritative election information into their own products and services.
Our election data covers federal, state, county, municipal, and school board elections serving communities of more than 5,000 people. We continuously monitor changes to election information and work directly with election officials to help ensure that the information voters receive reflects the latest available guidance.
As election administration becomes increasingly complex, access to accurate information from trusted sources remains essential. We're proud to continue partnering with election officials and Google to help make authoritative election information more accessible to voters throughout the 2026 midterm elections.
